Loutraki

Loutraki is a picturesque sandy beach nestled within a lush, enclosed cove on the southeastern coast of Akrotiri, approximately 17 km east of Chania city. The cove is strategically situated between the Souda Naval Base and Marathi, yet neither is visible from the beach, creating a sense of seclusion and exotic charm. The islet of Marathi, visible in the distance, adds to the idyllic landscape and enhances the feeling of being in a hidden paradise.

In recent years, Loutraki has developed into a well-organized tourist resort, becoming a popular destination for both locals and visitors. Its shallow, calm blue waters make it an ideal spot for families, especially those with young children. The beach is partially shaded by tamarisk trees that extend to the sand, providing natural relief from the sun.

Loutraki’s tranquil environment, combined with its natural beauty and modern amenities, makes it a favored location for short family outings and day trips. The beach offers a variety of services, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable visit for all.
