Gialiskari, also known as Gianiskari or Dialiskari, is a stunning beach located 4 km from Paleochora at the end of the Anydra gorge. Gialiskari consists of a trio of beaches. Two of these beaches are situated on either side of a peninsula, featuring small pebbles, crystal-clear deep waters, and organized facilities. The third beach, known as “Ammoudia” (sandy beach), lies further east. This beach is less developed compared to the other two, with coarse sand and pristine waters.
The area around Gialiskari has relatively sparse vegetation, with a few tamarisk trees situated away from the beaches. In the 1970s, Gialiskari was a highly popular destination for hippies, who camped freely along the shore.
Today, visitors can access Gialiskari via a dirt road from the east of Paleochora. Despite its remote location, the beaches offer a serene and picturesque setting, ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
