Vlites is a coastal settlement situated a short distance from Souda, approximately 5 km east of Chania. Nestled along the inlet of the expansive Bay of Souda, this beach benefits from its shallow waters, which remain calm most of the time. Vlites boasts a large sandy beach set in a lush, scenic area. Despite its proximity to Chania and the port of Souda, it remains relatively quiet and secluded, offering excellent views of Souda Bay.
The beach is located between the mouth of the Moronis River and the Allied War Cemetery, where casualties of the Battle of Crete are buried. The surrounding area is not highly developed, which means the beach usually does not attract large crowds, making it a peaceful retreat.
